Logistics specialist

Overview

We are seeking a motivated individual to serve as a logistics specialist across our rail freight, ocean freight & truck freight sectors. 


 As a Logistics Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating various aspects of the supply chain process.  

What You’ll Do

  • Supplier management: Collaborating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Ocean Carrier and Truck Logistics coordination: Overseeing the transportation of goods by working closely with our various carriers to ensure efficient and cost-effective shipment.
  • Logistics management: Planning and coordinating the logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
  • Transportation management: Optimizing transportation routes and modes to ensure timely delivery while minimizing costs.
  • Inventory control: Monitoring inventory levels, conducting regular audits, and implementing strategies to optimize inventory management. 
  • Settlement and invoicing: Managing shipment settlements, preparing invoices, reconciling costs, and ensuring accurate and timely payments to suppliers, customers, and service providers. 
  • Grain accounting support: Tracking contracts, shipments, and inventory movements while maintaining accurate records and coordinating with merchandising and accounting teams to ensure proper execution and reporting.

What You'll Bring

  •  Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers, carriers, customers, and internal teams. 
  • High attention to detail with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment. 
  • Experience in agriculture, grain handling, commodity merchandising, or transportation logistics is a plus but not required.
  •  Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Agribusiness, Business, Accounting, or a related field is a plus, but not required
