We are seeking an experienced Commodity Trader to bring in and/or develop and manage a profitable book of business across global agricultural markets. This role is centered on generating trade ideas, executing transactions, and leveraging relationships with customers and suppliers.

At Merus, senior traders are given the autonomy to operate, execute, and grow; owning outcomes and driving performance in a fast-moving environment.

• Develop, manage, and grow a book of business across domestic or international markets
• Identify and execute profitable trade opportunities across grain, feed, or food products
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, brokers, and logistics partners
• Structure trades, negotiate contracts, and manage execution from origin to destination
• Monitor markets in real time, including pricing, supply/demand, freight, and global events
• Manage risk, exposure, and P&L across positions
• Coordinate logistics including rail, vessel, and truck movements

• Proven experience in commodity trading, merchandising, or a related role
• Ability to bring in and/or build a book of business
• Strong understanding of agricultural markets, logistics, and trade flows
• Established network of customers, suppliers, or brokers is a strong plus
• Ability to make decisions quickly and operate in a fast-moving environment
• Strong communication and relationship management skills
